JUST out so let's have a looky see. EXPERIMENTAL RULES
www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/p/Primus_Redoubt.pdf
Starting at 650 points it is the NEW most expensive fortification out there.
Large BUilding with 2 Battlements. AV 15! and 11HP! GOOD LORD this guy isn't going anywhere!
A double Barrelled Turbo laser destructor . Is it as badass as it sounds?
96" D AP2 Primary 2, Large Blast, Battle Crew
Battle Crew: the turret is always controlled by the owner, not the models. BS3 or BS4 when shooting at super heavies. we see where this theme is going.
Mighty Bulwark like the Aquila Strongpoint
Super Heavy EMplacement: the turret is hard to take and it can't be destroyed without destroying the WHOLE DAMN THING. Also, the building can embark multiple units like a super heavy transport. a homebrew rule i was already using for the Castellum. good that it's got official precedent now.
Reactor Breach: Like a titan. Blow it up and put a pizza sized blast marker on the table!
Force Dome: the building has a 4+ invul against direct shooting attacks (yes) and a 3+ invul against barrage attacks fired indirectly (hmm, interesting)
Options:
There's a mounting point that can take almost everything, just like the Castellum Strongpoint. Each battlement can add 2 heavy blotters on top of that. They officially list access to the upgrades in the Stronghold Assault book, that way there's no argument.
There are no fire points, it's all from the battlements. Add a void shield to add some protection
There are only 2 access points. 1 to the side battlement and one big door in the back.
A large building carries 30 troops, hence the super heavy classification, makes it all official.
Counts as a fortification, naturally.
This panel matches very nicely to the bunker hill battle board and will find a place adjacent to my Castellum Stronghold.
And i would not be surprised if we see some more super heavy turrets in the future, pending the popularity of this board, which is going RIGHT on my to buy list!
