Blightwar is coming, and with it, a new kind of Stormcast Eternal – the Knights Zephyros, represented here by Neave Blacktalon.
Where other Stormcast Eternals are a hammer, the Knights-Zephyros are a scalpel, pursuing the champions of Chaos with single-minded ferocity. While these warriors are assassins first and foremost, their way is not to blend with the shadows but to instead carve a bloody path to their unfortunate charges by force. Often, the Knights-Zephros battle alongside the Vanguard Auxiliary Chambers, well suited to their fast paced methods of making war and capable of riding the winds-aetheric alongside the Vanguard-Palladors.
Neave Blacktalon is a mysterious figure, who speaks little of her exploits, motivated only by duty and a furious sense of justice. On the tabletop, she makes for an excellent choice in a Stormcast Eternals army that is looking to take out heroes – while your support characters like the Lord-Castellant and Lord-Celestant can stay and reinforce your front line, Neave is free to move around through enemy formations and take out even the most dangerous of enemies.
Neave Blacktalon’s main weapons are the Whirlwind Axes. With 7 attacks, all hitting on 3+ and wounding on 3+ with a rend of -1, she’s a respectable fighter – where she really comes into her own is with Nemesis. By boosting each of her attacks to Damage 2, she’ll be able to dispatch most unmounted heroes with ease, while potentially even threatening larger, monstrous heroes. Combined with Lightning-fast Strikes, Neave Blacktalon is capable of punching far above her weight, and should at the very least force your opponent to position their heroes as far from her as possible. It’s worth mentioning that Nemesis applies to ANY of Neave Blacktalon’s attacks, allowing her to chip wounds off of anyone that tries to escape her wrath with her boltstorm pistol!
Windrider allows Neave Blacktalon to take advantage of the Ride the Winds Aetheric ability when near a Vanguard-Pallador or a Lord-Aquilor. The Lord Aquilor is a particularly cool combination with Neave Blacktalon, making for a fast moving duo with a combination of ranged and melee attacks. The best way to use Windrider is to position Neave behind enemy lines – your opponent will be forced to divert their forces from the front to protect their favourite heroes, relieving pressure on the bulk of your forces.
