Welcome to my army plog for TALE OF X WARLORDS for the LoreMaster's War Game Club!

I present my incarnation of a force of the Legion of Nagash lead by my army general: Necromancer Baron Krozis Darkheart 'the Soul Reaper' and his captain Lord Vothik of the Flesh Eater Corps.

Ive been working on my total list of DEATH ARMY for this event. In keeping with the theme of warband size... I went to the General's Handbook and figured out points for my army.

1000 to 1999 is considered a Vanguard size and is what I was aiming for this event.

Words inside quotes are their names for my own army narrative. Background coming!


My army comes to 1,280.

First update! I've assembled my first unit - SPIRIT HOSTS! These models look very cool. As for assembly, they were not that easy to align the ethereal tails as the design notches were not that prominent so some after-glue adjustments were made on a couple. But overall I'm satisfied with how they look and displayed on-base. Still have the rest of the Start Collecting Malignants box to assemble - 5 Hexwraiths and the Mortis Engine.

UPDATE


I managed to assemble 5 Hexwraiths today. These could have also been made into Black Knights which is undead heavy cavalry, but going with my Malignants theme of ethereal. Spirits, and Mordants (Flesh Eater Courts), I chose the nasty ghostly version.


These were fairly easy to assemble. The sprue parts were scattered and very little was actually next to the other piece making it take a bit longer to finish.

With these fast cavalry and spirit hosts done, my Start Collecting box is nearly fully assembled!


One more model to go: Mortis Engine!

I Worked on my Spirit Hosts today. Got them to a decent painting. Zero details have been done yet so Ill have that to look forward to.

I think my goal is to get everything done up-to detailing on my months goal first. Then take my time later with the fine details. This would better assure me of getting these to table top standard.

Update on my Death army! 

Working on my Hexwraiths. These have so far been pretty fun to paint. While the pics may not look like it, I have 4 layers on them already not including the white undercoating. Some shading of Nuln Oil in there a couple times too.

My goal is to have these completed by this coming Friday, leaving only the Mortis Engine and base work to be done in the final week+ completing the first month of Tale of 6 Warlords!

October 17 UPDATE!


Added a few more colors to the riders. I like how the green ethereal effect came out.


Added 4 more washes including a Drakenhof Nightshade to the horses barding.


About 2/3 done with these. Still aiming for a Friday deadline then onto my last model for the first month challenge commitment!

Thank you! I have more update pics to post. I'll get on that this weekend.

No, I'm not planning on doing many details. Once we get to our Leaders/Heroes, I most likely will. But my overall goal is to get all models to table top standard. Once that's done, my plans were to go back and glaze and highlights.
