A short list of plant people, they make great allies for elves and anyone who can run through the woods.
You need to have a Sylvaneth Wyldwood or three to get full use of these. Sylvaneth get along with some Wood elves, so consider them allies that should always be on the same table. A full Sylvaneth army could excel at board control and guerrilla tactics.
Dryads 5-12+ 7" 1 6 5+
They get harder to hit when in reach of a SW. It can also hit tagged enemies more easily in melee if in reach of a SW. Their Save goes up by 1 if there's 12+ models.
Branchwraith 7" 5 8 5+ Wizard 1
It also gets 1 harder to hit while within reach of a SW.
Spell 'Roused to Wrath': CV7 create a unit of 2d6 Dryads in a SW within 12".
Treelord 6" 12 6 3+
The Strangleroots 12" range gets more interesting when you consider the long reach of the model. Even deadlier when it hits on 2+ to start! Sweeping blows have a 3" reach and mean business. The sweeping talons are the real trick. If it causes a wound on a multi-wound model with 5 or less wounds it has a chance to kill it outright. It can stomp in melee with a chance to reduce enemy hit rolls by 1 for that combat phase. It can also use SW as a transporter to another SW so be sure to bring one per board.
Treelord Ancient 5" 12 9 3+ Wizard 1
It shares the same attacks and abilities with its cousin but for 2 exceptions. It trades Strangleroots for a Doom Tendril Staff. It has longer reach, 1A and may hit hard.
Spell 'Awakening the Wood': CV6 24" causes d3 mortals against enemy units within reach of a SW in range. Another reason to bring multiples.
Durthu 5" 12 9 3+ (Wood Elf army list)
The Treelord character resembles the Ancient but with even better tricks. Its ranged attack lacks the range of its brother but has 12 shots to start. The Elder Wraith Sword is as close to a maxed out weapon profile as one could hope for! And to make it even better it gets d3 more strikes while within reach of a SW.
CA: An auto-take for general, he can create a SW in 30"! Another reason to carry a big box of SW.
Tree Kin 3+ 6" 4 6 4+ (Wood elf army list)
They have decent damage potential. They can re-roll hit 1s if they're in 18" of a Sylvaneth Hero. They come with a CV5 18" spell Sylvaneth Wizards can use to heal them d3 wounds.
Guardians of the Deepwood (Battalion)
3 Treelords and/or Ancients
2 units of Dryads
2 Sylvaneth Wyldwoods
Forest Spirits: Any model can set up in reach of a SW during any movement phase instead of deploying normally.
Sacred Groves: SW are deployed after normal deployment and can be placed anywhere on the table, allowing you to guerrilla fight your opponent.
